The Education Wonks bring us this story about new Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who wants to get rid of local control of school districts by appointing the school board and superintendent himself. Could this be the same Antonio Villaraigosa who was welcomed at the NEA Convention in Los Angeles a few weeks ago to raucus applause?
