Stop Government From Giving My Money To The Union

It strikes me as somewhat perverse that a governmental agency, the school district I work for, can take my money against my wishes and give it to a non-governmental agency, specifically my union--which is really three unions, a local, a state, and a national one. I'm forced to agree with Dan Weintraub, columnist and blogger for the major Sacramento newspaper, in this short entry. His key point:

Union issues aside, the government really has no business getting directly involved in politics by helping certain private groups raise money to spend on campaigns.

Guess it's one more thing to like about Utah :) (You have to read his entry to learn what I mean by that.)
