I am the frustrated father of a 2nd grader who is gifted. Next year he may get into the GATE program, but so far, school has just been a boring place where you behave well, and socialize.

I am constantly frustrated with the educational system, and to hear that there are people out there that feel the same way I do, and are pushing schools to not abandon some of our future's great accomplishers, is a very welcome relief.

P.S. I found this on Google, while searching for "gifted education" "Fullerton California"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10348701.post-1134780475826711132005-12-16T16:47:00.000-08:002005-12-16T16:47:00.000-08:00I found your little corner of the internet by sear...I found your little corner of the internet by searching for teachers who think right.Jane Bankshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13920922566515657608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10348701.post-1134107475824554622005-12-08T21:51:00.000-08:002005-12-08T21:51:00.000-08:00All I did was cut/paste from the URL provided. It should be required reading for every school board, superintendent, curriculum team, etc.

My daughter is in third grade and has tested as having "Superior Cognitive Ability." This means that once a week she gets to ride a bus to another school to do a "research project" on beavers. Sadly, this is the highlight of her week. The other four days, she is bored senseless.

Luckily, I have a degree in education and we supplement and challenge her at home. Thank you for writing this.buffihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02538784348871265028noreply@blogger.com
