Why I'm Not Convinced Anthropogenic Global Warming Is Real

I've written about Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, several times, and I agree with him here as well:
I changed my mind…this past February, Patrick Moore, a Canadian ecologist, and the co-founder of Greenpeace, the militant environmental group told members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee “
There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years.”
There are more like Moore.
There are plenty of other reasons at the link above to be skeptical about the Church of Global Warming.

Leaving side the "why" of anthropogenic global warming the reason it's fallen on hard times, in my opinion, is that it lacks the crucial element of verification and that lack isn't lost on the "stupid" public.

There are endless predictions but no effort to verify the predictions other then by repetition, insult and appeals to authority. Anthropogenic global warming is true not because of the unassailable proof but because anyone who doubts that it's true is stupid. Anthropogenic global warming is true because it's true, true, true, true, true. Anthropogenic global warming is true because a bunch of very smart people say it's true and who are you to disagree?

What I'm not convinced of is the religion metaphor. I don't think fervor for anthropogenic global warming is religious in nature. I've come to be convinced that the essence of lefties is emotional immaturity.

Like I've written before, I think they're over-indulged, little snots who are trying to act the way they think adults act and doing an exceptionally poor job of it since they're really over-indulged, little snots.

The fervor I get from many of these people has an unmistakable religious flavor to it. I don't also call it The Church of Global Warming for nothing.
