Holy canolli, the tidal range in Hoonah, Alaska is about eighteen feet. I imagine if you're going to anchor out you'd want to pay special attention to the tide charts or find your boat lying on it's side a few hours later.
I wonder how you tie off to a dock in tidal conditions that extreme? Check out the height of the ladders. Tie off in the morning and you might climb a rung or two, come back after lunch and have an eighteen foot descent.
