For an emergency room visit and one night in the hospital. It's no wonder the two meals they served were so good--I couldn't have spent this much on a night at the Bellagio in Vegas!

Don't misunderstand. I'm not complaining
one ounce about the care I received. It was top notch.
But wow.

Not bad... SO FAR.
I have a kid who racked up just under $200,000 in hospital charges last year and just under $30,000 this year. Yes, you read that right.
The thing is though, that what you have received is not IT. There will be other statements arriving from the anesthesiologist, the surgeon, the ER doctors, the ambulance, and probably assorted people who did blood tests and this or that diagnostic stuff. I've been round and round on everything and just know these things. :)
that's it? when i was hospitalized my JR year at rio (right before your class), the ambulance ride alone was $20,000....after my hospital release, total cost paid was close to $200,000....and they STILL couldn't figure out what happened.
it took a neurologist 2.5 years later, during an FAA recommended consultation, to diagnose that event as a heat stroke....and that visit cost my insurance less than $1K. And that neurologist was one of the best in Tucson
Can I know what the 2000 dollar pharmacy drugs were? Can I have them?...

Actually, I'm a very polite and accommodating patient. I know better than to bite the hand that feeds me!
The expensive drugs? Probably the morphine. Looks like they paid street prices for it, too!
My first child was born 3 months premature. When the final insurance statement was in, the grand total was nearly $500,000. That included my wife's 8 days in the hospital and the child's 76 days. Praise the Lord for Insurance - my out of pocket was $1200.
