From The "When Are We Going To Need To Know This" File

Tonight at Trivia Night at an Irish pub downtown, one of the questions was "Which US president had a dog named Fala?"

Thank you, Mr. Bradford, 8th grade US History teacher. I don't know why I remembered that particular tidbit of information, but I always felt it would come in handy some day.

I thought it was Ulysses S. Grant but I was wrong.

My kids were thrilled to find that Fala was part of the FDR memorial in D.C... there must have been a time in America when *everyone* knew who Fala was!

So, is that our new question? Some of us didn't have Mr. Bradford. :-)

FDR - and as a scottie dog collector (yes, I know, weird hobby but I actually had real scotties as a kid), I have a lot of items from the 1930's when Fala and scotties were all the rage.
