More Of That Higher Education Diversity of Thought and Free Speech

This disappoints me more than it surprises me:

CHAPEL HILL -- UNC-CH police released pepper spray and threatened to use a Taser on student protesters Tuesday evening when a crowd disrupted a speech by former Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo opposing in-state tuition benefits to unauthorized immigrants.

Hundreds of protesters converged on Bingham Hall, shouting profanities and accusations of racism while Tancredo and the student who introduced him tried to speak. Minutes into the speech, a protester pounded a window of the classroom until the glass shattered, prompting Tancredo to flee and campus police to shut down the event.

Tancredo was brought to campus by a UNC chapter of Youth for Western Civilization, a national organization of students who oppose mass immigration, multiculturalism and affirmative action.

I wish this was uncommon enough for me to be surprised.

Im sure somebody's already twisted the story into some lie about Tancredo coming to the school surrounded by thugs armed with tasers and threatening innocent students. I've heard worse distortions of the truth out in public.

Why is this not considered terrorism? On some level a citizen's freedom of speech was prevented. If that's not something people worry about, they should because it's only going to get worse.

The left are the thugs who routinely try to deny others the right to peaceably assemble and enjoy free speech. A note to those infantile lefties who would disgrace themselves by trying to disrupt someone's speech: If you disagree with the message, there are other ways to disagree with it than becoming a rowdy mob. But you wouldn't understand that. You do understand, though, that if people hear the other side's message that they will discredit your message, and that alarms you. Deal with it in a civilized manner. Perhaps you should really re-evaluate your inner beliefs, and when you do, you'll find your entire world-view has been wrong all along.

It's not terrorism because there are no body parts flying through the air.

If you want to put an "ism" in front of it I think "annoyancism" or "snotty, spoiled, pay-attention-to-me bratism" would be more accurate.
