Dirge Continues For Global Warming Adherents

If you believe facts are important, someone's got some 'splainin' to do.

The researchers compared predictions of 22 widely used climate "models" — elaborate schematics that try to forecast how the global weather system will behave — with actual readings gathered by surface stations, weather balloons and orbiting satellites over the past three decades.

The study, published online this week in the International Journal of Climatology, found that while most of the models predicted that the middle and upper parts of the troposphere —1 to 6 miles above the Earth's surface — would have warmed drastically over the past 30 years, actual observations showed only a little warming, especially over tropical regions.

"Can the models accurately explain the climate from the recent past? It seems that the answer is no," said lead study author David H. Douglass, a physicist specializing in climate at the University of Rochester.

You don't say.

Well then, clearly the real world must be wrong. We all know that global warming will kill us in our sleep if we don't "fix" it.

Wow, now Global Warming has turned into the Boogey Man. So where was this guy about ten thousand years ago when glaciers covered most of what is now the northern U.S. Because science is a fact gathering process, and because we have very limited data for the entirety of earth's existence, we simply do not have valid information to make these meaningless actions toward the religion that is becoming Global Warming. It is becoming increasingly clear that India and China want to limit western manufacturing capabilities via Kyoto accords-if you believe what is coming out of the Bali Summit right now. But most balanced scientists admit that even if the US and Europe put draconian measures into effect-mass transit only in cities, fewer cars with higher cost and flex scheduling while shutting down coal fired power plants, the main result would be to push these areas into poverty, while allowing India and China to become rich since they would still be allowed to manufacture goods without environmental limits. This isn't about the earth, this is about money, pure and simple.
