Disgusting

From this week's Carnival of Education I learned about a commercial that Carl's Jr. apparently is airing. It's inappropriate, it's disrespectful (to teachers and to women), and parents everywhere ought to be up in arms that Carl's Jr. would even consider airing such trash.

I myself have already emailed them at their Contact Us site and offered my opinion.

(In case they change the commercial that shows up at the first link above, the commercial is called Schooled.)

It's not 'going to air'... it's already on the air. I saw it, and I started fuming.

I just started teaching at a middle school where a teacher last year got fired for sleeping with a student. The LAST thing I need is a commercial egging on students with a behavior they've already seen exhibited in another teacher the previous year. 8th graders can be tough to handle as it is!

Not to mention... ewwwwwwwwwww. Cradle robbing is SO nasty. And lame.

Thank you for the information. I've updated my post accordingly.

Truly in bad taste, and horrible timing on top of it, what with all the high profile cases of female teachers having sexual trysts with their young charges.

I haven't seen anything like this since the "Hot for Teacher" video by Van Halen back in the '80s.

Tasteless...like the food.

My first thought was "Hot For Teacher".

However, times have changed and I don't think this is appropriate -- and now wonder if my favorite Van Halen video ever was.

I don't know if the version you linked ever aired, but either way, they've toned it down -- no tousling of the hair, much less emphasis on teacher-as-stripper.

When I first saw it, I had absolutely no idea what the product was until the ending tag line, and I actually laughed. I was stunned that they got it on TV, even as is, but I found it infinitely preferable than the Jessica Simpson ones, or all of the guys-are -too-stupid-to make their own food ones.

And "Hot For Teacher" ruled. That was video perfection in every aspect.

Pretty offensive. I put the link on the Texas Teachers'. net board. Even though we only have a very few Carl's Jr. in the state, that is a very crude and nasty ad. Shame on them. Who is their ad manager, Britney Spears?
