I'm among the world's slowest readers. I'm one of those who pronounces each word in my head as if I'm reading aloud. I don't know any other way, and fortunately I've found ways to compensate for this inability.
Still, I'm on page 502. So far, I'm not convinced the story is as good as any of the previous books. Here's hoping for a good ending, though.

I too am a word-by-word reader. I'm jealous of all of those people who can read phrases at a time and race through books I walk through.
By the end of the book, I think you will find that Rowling has done an excellent job wrapping up the series. Some people might complain that she does too good a job of wrapping up all of the ends and pieces, but this is primarily still a children's book and unambiguous endings are important.
If there is any fault to be found it is that Rowling abandoned her previous habit of reviewing events to help readers understand events in the past. This time the reader is expected to have read, understood and remembered all of the characters and the events to be finally resolved here.

I enjoyed the series and I am sorry to see it end. But then I have felt that way with every series I have ever read. Enjoy.
